COPYWRITING

PRINT AD CAMPAIGN:

AN INDIVIDUAL PROJECT FOR THE 'COPYWRITING' COURSE (2024)

Scope of work

As part of the copywriting course, I am required to create three unique marketing materials to refine my ability to deliver persuasive and effective copywriting.

This includes a required 8.5 x 11 tri-fold brochure as many youths face challenges that lead them to default to passive, screen-based activities during their downtime. The competitive schooling system often limits their leisure time for entertainment and outdoor activities. Additionally, the constant pressure to stay updated on others’ lives and the fear of missing out can contribute to psychological issues such as low self-esteem and difficulty with social interaction. These factors often drive higher screen time usage as a coping mechanism, further discouraging engagement in other activities.

To address these issues, I propose a print-ad campaign aimed at triggering the fear of how myopia can disrupt their lives while emphasizing the benefits of alternative activities that align with their self-interests. This campaign will use witty, storytelling-driven copy and visuals to engage young users, reflecting cultural and social nuances relevant to the target audience. By incorporating inclusive language for stronger emotional connections and personalization, the campaign seeks to inspire self-reflection and motivate a positive shift in behavior.

What I have learned ?

Upon finishing this copywriting course, I have gained a thorough understanding of a copywriter's responsibilities in planning, creating, executing, and producing effective advertising communications.

I am now skilled in crafting targeted and imaginative word-based solutions that tackle communication challenges across visual text, making sure key message resonates with the intended audience and mode of delivery.

Furthermore, I have refined my ability to critique and assess creative solutions, evaluating their alignment with the original brief, advertising goals, and contextual factors to achieve impactful and strategic outcomes.
